Joan is very comfortable in her role of working with the dedicated people in Community Life. The commission's main thrust is to be of service and to offer the representatives the opportunity to reach out and fulfill their goals both organizationally and personally.
Joan, Ted, and their three daughters moved to Duncanville in 1968. Holy Spirit became a parish in 1974 and Joan has been active in parish life since the beginning. They have been blessed with three good sons in-law and six wonderful grandchildren. Joan and Ted will celebrate 50 years of marriage in September 2004.
Because of her volunteer work in both the parish and community, Joan has received the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and Saint Anne medals through the National Catholic Committee of Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and Junior Catholic Daughters for the Diocese of Dallas. The Saint Anne is the highest award given to adults through this committee.
She plans to continue her service to God and her parish with love.
